🚀HyperCanvas: A New Chapter in On-Chain Gaming
🚀At HyperCanvas, we are a collective of creative coders and dreamers eager to delve into the uncharted territories of on-chain gaming. Our mission is to harness the interactive potential of generative art to create fully on-chain games. We see ourselves as both a research lab and a game studio, driven by a desire to revolutionize on-chain interactions and expand the boundaries of imagination. Here's an overview of our philosophy, plans, and why we believe in the transformative power of generative art in gaming.
🎨Why Generative Art (GenArt)?
Generative art uses algorithms, randomness, and predefined rules to create art. In recent years, it has evolved significantly. Artblocks brought the concept of long-term farming to the forefront, Fxhash fostered a grassroots community encouraging widespread participation, and Highlight introduced generative art across multiple blockchains. Continuing on this trajectory, HyperCanvas aims to merge generative art with game design, offering players an entirely novel gaming experience.
🕹️Fully On-Chain Gaming with JavaScript
JavaScript, with its light weight, flexibility, and cross-platform capabilities, is a mainstay in web development. For on-chain gaming, it offers a means to implement intricate game logic and interactive features directly on the blockchain via smart contracts. This approach to deploying game logic on-chain facilitates decentralized and secure gaming experiences, ensuring that game rules are transparent and immutable.
🛣️Our Roadmap
We are currently developing a series of innovative projects, including:
Birdy: A web-based generative art game using the ERC404, set to launch by Feb 24th.
BOHO: A 3D generative art monopoly game powered by randomness and timestamps, currently in development for release on Blast.
BitPuzzle: A pixel art generative puzzle game on Bitcoin, ready for launch at a future date.
More complex cross-chain interoperable games are also in the pipeline!
In due course, we plan to open-source our foundational framework and protocols to foster co-creation and build a collaborative platform with industry partners.
🐦Our First Game: Birdy
A generative art web game leveraging the ERC404 protocol for a unique, verifiable gaming experience. Immerse yourself in a game where NFTs evolve with each transaction.
🔍Why ERC404?
The ERC404 standard is pivotal for generative art, outlining the metadata format and transaction rules. Integrating generative art with the ERC404 protocol ensures each piece's uniqueness and verifiability, safeguarding the rights of artists and players alike. Through the ERC404 protocol, HyperCanvas aspires to offer a gaming experience that is safer, more transparent, and more trustworthy.
Our focus on the token protocol, particularly ERC404, allows for a closer association between newly minted NFTs and the current transaction hash at each token transfer. Thus, the games we release, including Birdy, not only provide ample liquidity but also leave the outcome to market makers, ensuring each generated art game is unique and time-stamp bound. Designed for both mobile and PC platforms, these games keep all generation rules and transaction records on-chain, promising a novel interactive experience.
🔮Our Long-term Vision
Generative art, by virtue of its digital-native on-chain logic and technological centrality, represents the pinnacle of digital assets. Traditional gaming's reliance on various infrastructure editors amounts to a purely parametric modeling process. In contrast, generative art can function both as a blockchain gaming asset and the game itself.
In the crypto industry, being digitally native and based on transaction hashes carries significant meaning. At HyperCanvas, we are committed to demonstrating that imagination knows no bounds, pushing the envelope of what's possible in the realm of digital and interactive art. Our journey is just beginning, and we invite you to join us as we explore the limitless potential of on-chain gaming and generative art.
